We Are Vigilant
Vigilant was founded in 2016 with the promise to deliver high quality care to patients requiring anesthesia.
After 26 years of experience, Terry English, President of Vigilant
Anesthesia, knew the difference was working with the right people.
Supporting them to be the best providers they can be, then offering
opportunities for further growth and development. Terry has worked
for the past two and a half decades in large teaching institutions
to small rural hospitals and Solo arrangements. We are here to help
you transition into or continue to thrive in delivering anesthesia
care as a locum. We also do placement for FT W2 positions.
We give priority placement to highly flexible staff, willing to cover
multiple sites and of course, call coverage, nights and weekends.
We have priority Staffing Projects at various hospitals in the Maryland
and West Virginia areas.

Bridgeport Hospital and Yale University Hospital in New Haven,

anesthesia at a major hospital and volunteered on medical
missions.
In 2017 Jeremy had brain surgery at the Johns Hopkins University
Hospital and he can now say he’s experienced both sides of healthcare.
At Vigilant, Jeremy is responsible for provider timesheets, client
invoicing, pre-hire candidate tracking and onboarding.
He lives in Maryland with his wife, son, and two stubborn cats.
Jeremy's Story
A CRNA’s support of another
When Jeremy King was diagnosed in 2017 with a sizable ependymoma on
the brain stem that required immediate surgery at Johns Hopkins, he
turned to the CRNA community to ask for a skilled and caring
anesthesia provider there. The overwhelming recommendation of Terry
English led Jeremy to request that Terry join the surgical team.
From the first, Terry put Jeremy at ease in a difficult situation.
During multiple and challenging surgeries, the neurosurgeon removed
as much of the tumor as possible, Terry English ensured Jeremy’s
safety at every turn. Often, once anesthesia needs are met and the
patient is safe, the provider moves on—yet Terry and Jeremy kept in
touch throughout what became a complicated ongoing recovery.
Today, Jeremy and Terry are good friends who share a great respect for
their field of expertise, a deep appreciation for the needs of patients
in and beyond the OR—and a desire to support the professional growth
and development of anesthesia providers
Thanks to one CRNA going the extra mile for another CRNA, Jeremy, a provider
sidelined by circumstances, continues to contribute in his chosen field,
helping other CRNAs.
